Alard has found love but he can’t touch her.  He is only a soul, a ghost of a man, but he can watch her and talk to her.  Raya longs to feel his warm body against hers.  She longs to feel his lips press against hers, but it cannot be.  Alard is not much more than a dream.  She will always love him.  Living with vampires, Alard and Raya are surprised and happy to find out that there may be a way for Alard to gain a flesh and blood body.  But time is running short.  There are some wannabe slayers out there, getting closer and closer, and they are after Raya.  Will the vampires live long enough to perform the spell necessary for Alard to finally join with Raya?   

Jennifer Cloud has penned a story that is dark and delicious.  This is the type of story that this reviewer highly enjoys.  Her characters are multi-dimensional; the plot is exciting and captivating.  Ms. Cloud employs all the emotional tricks in the book to keep her reader turning the cyber pages.  Her sex scenes are intense, sensual and very romantic.  This reviewer was held by the story, enthralled by the plot and in love with the characters.  The villains are well written and the reader will laugh at their pathetic attempts to thwart the vampire’s attempts to help Alard and Raya.  The ending will certainly elicit a chuckle from the reader.  This reviewer can highly recommend this story, in fact, any story from Jennifer Cloud is worth the reader’s time.
